Onion Ring's Scientifically Super Day

Greetings, Humans.

Onion Ring loves science and he also loves his birthday. So for his birthday (which was yesterday), he decided to combine these loves and have a science themed birthday party.

To start off, we made toothpick and marshmallow structures. The goal was height and stability...

...or whatever struck their fancy.

We had an egg drop game in which we divided into teams and each team had twelve straws and three feet of tape to create a cushion around a raw egg. Then we dropped the eggs from varying heights to test the cushions. (Somehow I missed photographing Onion Ring's and Ben's team. Aaaagh!)

We had a treasure hunt in which the periodic table was the key to decipher the clues. For example, one clue was, "polonium, phosphorous, cobalt, radon". The symbols for these elements spell "Po-P-Co-Rn" and so the next clue was in the popcorn popper.

We also made a coke and mento geyser which I video taped. Unfortunately, I am not technically savvy enough to have figured out how to put video onto this blog, yet. Maybe later.

We made rootbeer and ice cream for floats...

...and the Silly Grandma made an awesome cake.
