Have a Lovely Valentine's Day

By the way, if you want to read an amazing story, go here. I don't know these people, but their kids go to the same school as ours and a friend of mine told me what happened a few days after (you know how new spreads) and then I recently saw them in the news. Reading her account of their experience really impacted me. (And they have four boys, too.)

B-b-b-b-brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

(I know I promised a certain story next but I just couldn't help posting this first because it was so beautiful outside this morning--but I promise that the story comes next!)

This morning when I dropped the boys off for school it was two degrees (F) outside. Yesterday's high was fifteen degrees. The school has been keeping the kids inside during recess due to the cold. (Though the cold doesn't stop the boys from playing outside here at home.)

Yeah, yeah, I know this is nothing compared to North Dakota, Alaska, and Svalbard (I found that on Google Maps just now. Look it up.) but I am okay with the possibility that I may never experience that kind of cold. My hands were hurting after five minutes of picture taking this morning.

Isn't it dazzling? (Click on the photos to enlarge and see some amazing detail.)

I took these pictures several days ago. I love pictures of the boys in the snow.

Eating snow is a favorite pastime around here in the winter. When I picked Eggs on Toast up from school today he was chomping on a big chunk of snow that had brown spots in it. Yum!

Oooo, is he aiming at me? The little punk.

Care to sunbathe?

The Photographers

Today I let Junior and Eggs on Toast take some pictures. Their portfolio can be divided into three sections. The first is still life.

Don't ask what this is.

Second, is macro. (Fancy that!)

I can't figure out what this is.

This was left after our Halloween party. Any takers?

And third is silly boys.

I'd say they have quite a knack for composition!

Eyes

I don't know if anyone else will enjoy this post as much as me. I admit that I think the boys have beautiful (um--I mean totally cool) eyes and I could have gone on and on taking these pictures (had the boys been willing). I may be a little biased.
