I don't think anybody knew we were expecting...and neither did we! But here they are, our new kittens. Meet Cali (short for Calico)...
...and Jet (short for Jet Black).
Brandon and I were only planning on one, but somehow we ended up with two, a brother and a sister. It's been fun to get to know them. Cali was at first very timid and scared of any little thing (I dubbed her the 'fraidy-cat), hiding and meowing almost non-stop during her first day or two here. But then she has surprised us by being the climber. She climbs the trees (and at first made us think she was stuck by sitting in the tree, meowing, but she was just messing with us--she has always gotten down just fine) while Jet tries to follow her by climbing up a short way and then jumping down.
Jet has been more active and social, exploring more, and more interested in being held and petted. But he thinks his sister is a show-off, as far as the climbing goes.

Yay, Aunt Lori (and the Silly Grandma) came to visit!
