Gutter of Fire 2012

Before we moved, we attended the third annual "Gutter of Fire" produced by our awesome neighbors.  Whom we miss a lot, now.

We lived in a great neighborhood!

Fourth of July 2012

At the family barbecue, the Silly Grandma read our beloved Declaration of Independence to us. 

Later in the evening we set off some of our own little fireworks in the backyard.  The boys love to set the first ones off and then arrange the rest of the fireworks in such a way that they catch the remnants of the first fireworks on fire.

Their inner pyros finally had opportunity of expression.

Although I missed getting a picture of the F-16's at the parade, I got one as they flew across the valley to kick off the beginning of the Stadium of Fire.

Gutter of Fire 2011

Our neighbors threw another "Gutter of Fire" party to celebrate Pioneer Day. Since the aerial fireworks were legalized in Utah this year, they didn't have to worry about the fire department showing up (like last year).

Pioneer Day 2011

For Pioneer Day this year we set off a few little fireworks in our backyard.

Smoke bombs, blossoms, and tanks are some of the boys' favorites.

I love this shot of Brandon.

After setting off the tanks so that they shoot at each other, the boys love to set the remains on fire with sparklers.

There was a specific look they were going for, as demonstrated by the photos (below) that they took the next morning.

Are you wondering what is going on with Buttermilk Sky here? So am I.

The boys could not have been more content that evening, having the opportunity to express their inner pyro.

The Gutter of Fire

In Utah, July 24th is a holiday called "Pioneer Day" to commemorate the Mormon pioneers arriving in the Salt Lake Valley. To celebrate, our neighbors threw a firework party dubbed "The Gutter of Fire", a spin off of the July 4th firework display, "The Stadium of Fire". Here are some pictures I took of the party.

It was the best "Gutter of Fire" that we've ever attended.
