Strings Concert

Junior and Eggs on Toast have been able to participate in the "Strings in the Schools" program here, learning to play the violin.  These pictures and video are from their first concert, which was in December.

Behind the beginning group are more advanced students playing the melody.

They were a little nervous, but they did a great job!

Onion Ring's Concert and Recital

Onion Ring recently had his end of the school year orchestra concert and fiddle recital. Now he is very glad they are over.

This piece was a scream! (Ha ha!) It was very unique.

Enjoy!

A-Fiddling He Did Go

Onion Ring had a fiddle recital and an orchestra concert this past week, so here are his performances.

This band just recently came together and we all really enjoyed their music. I am told they are eager to play and they will play for food. So if anyone wants them to perform at a function, give me a call and I can hook you up!

I wasn't in a very good place to see Onion Ring, but you can see his hands a bit during this piece and his face at the very end.

This is the grand finale with all of the classes together (including his teacher on the far left). Unfortunately, I couldn't see Onion Ring at all.

Keep up the good work, Onion Ring!

Folk Music in a Pretty White Pavilion at the Park on a Peaceful Summer's Evening

Last night we were treated to a melodious summer evening at the park for Onion Ring's folk music class concert. Here is Onion Ring's solo:

(Whistle and shout) Yeah Onion Ring!

Here is Onion Ring stressing about his solo beforehand:

Have you ever seen someone fiddle and clog at the same time at a breakneck pace? I hadn't. The teacher of this class is the star of this next performance and if you think she starts out fast, just wait until you see the end.

Their rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" was fun.

I love summer evenings at the park. Especially when it involves banjos, fiddles, guitars, clogging, and Onion Ring in a fancy pavilion while I sit in a cush chair in the shade.

The Violin Recital

Yesterday Onion Ring had his first violin recital.

We are proud of him!

The lady front and center is his teacher and she does a great job.

Now Brandon wants to take guitar lessons and start a family band.
