Wishing You a Happy New Year

This Christmas gift caused great excitement amongst the boys.

Buttermilk Sky used it as a model for this still life.

And even though General Grievous is not a very pleasant guy and doesn't represent anything good at all, I am using him in this post to wish everyone a happy New Year because

a. the boys think he is the coolest thing ever, and

b. I wanted to show off Buttermilk Sky's artwork. Didn't he do a great job?

So here are my thoughts on the matter: let's all strive for the opposite of the General and make this a good and excellent year!

Two Good Boys

It is very important that goodness be noticed and recognized in this family.

This is definitely worthy of recognition.

I'm talking about the shorts, you know, not the driveway shoveling.

Just kidding--of course I'm talking about the driveway shoveling. But the shorts just happened to be there, too.

What good boys!

From Me to You

These are the treats I (I wish I could say "we" but I've never been that great at letting the boys help out with stuff like this but I'm working on it) made for the neighbors this year.

For the truffles I used Pioneer Woman's recipe found here: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/10/chocolate-truffles-with-sea-salt/. I also used a variety of chocolate chip flavors for the fillings, such as butterscotch, mint, cinnamon, white, and dark chocolate, and for the coating I used white, milk, and dark chocolate creating a variety of combinations and toppings. Although I forgot to try the sea salt topping recommended by PW. Silly me.

I have to say they are mighty good.

So good that I wanted to share them with all of you who don't live in my neighborhood.

Consider it my gift to you--virtual chocolates!

Is your mouth watering? Can't you just almost taste them?

In case you didn't know, virtual chocolates are calorie free. I could call them "Choc Zero".

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas From the Silly Grandma

Isn't this adorable?

This past weekend the Silly Grandma came over and made this with the boys.

They had a blast.

The Silly Grandma is doing this with all (of those old enough to care) of her grandchildren this year.

They also made gingerbread men...

...and icing jewelry.

What lucky boys!

Thanks, Silly Grandma! We love you.
